Before Vigueur, there was VigorWicks.

Before Vigueur, there was VigorWicks.

Some of you have been here since the beginning. Some of you found me somewhere along the way. And some of you may have only ever known me as Vigueur.

Seven years ago, I started this business as VigorWicks. A lot has changed since then. The name, the aesthetic, the products, the way I think about fragrance - and, honestly, the way I think about building a business.

There were collaborations, features, opportunities, collections, markets, milestones, and plenty of little moments in between that helped shape VigorWicks - and eventually, Vigueur. One of those chapters was being part of the Buy From A Black Woman Inspire Tour, presented by H&M. I had the honor of being chosen not once, but three times. And every time, I chose New York- home, the city I’m from, and the place where so much of my story began.

It was a meaningful chapter for the business, but it was only one piece of a much bigger story.

There are so many parts of those early years that I don’t talk about nearly enough. Work I poured myself into. Things I figured out along the way. Moments that felt significant then, and others that I can see the significance of more clearly now. So I thought it was time to pull a few of them back out and let you see some of the work that helped shape what Vigueur is today- but also remind myself that I’m still that girl! Because full-time entrepreneurship isn’t for the weak, boo! Sometimes you need to look back at what you’ve already done as a little reminder to keep going. Check me out →

Vigueur may be the name you know now, but it didn’t appear out of nowhere. It was built on everything that came before it. VigorWicks became Vigueur three years ago, but the years before that didn’t disappear. They’re still here - in what I’ve learned, in what I’ve kept, in what I’ve changed, and in the way I approach the brand today. They’re part of the foundation. And I’m grateful for every version of this business that brought me here.

Thank you for being here 🤎
