Lessons Learned: The Importance of Boundaries in Business

Starting and managing a business has been a journey filled with more lessons than I could’ve imagined.  As a single mom, entrepreneur, and passionate creator, I’ve grown so much, not just in business, but in my understanding of relationships, boundaries, and the power of self-awareness.

I've come to realize over time that business partnerships work best when both parties share the same expectations.  Sometimes, despite the best intentions, things just don’t align the way we hope, and that's okay.

What I’ve learned is that setting clear boundaries in business isn’t about being inflexible; it’s about ensuring that everyone involved respects each other’s time, effort, and vision.  My most recent experience has shown me that mutual respect is the foundation of any successful partnership.  Even though things didn’t work out the way I imagined, I’ve gained insights that will shape how I approach future collaborations and I'm grateful.

What’s most important for me, though, is recognizing the ongoing growth that my experiences always provide.  I’m learning how to assess situations more clearly, trust my instincts, and make decisions that honor my time and well-being.  It’s not always easy to step back, but sometimes it’s necessary!  I’m truly grateful for the ability to view every challenge as an opportunity for growth.. something that strengthens both myself and my business.

I hope my transparency will inspire others to look at their own business relationships and make sure they’re setting up partnerships that align with their values and goals.  Don’t be afraid to walk away if something isn’t working.  Your peace, time, and energy are just as valuable as the product or service you offer.  Hold onto not having to lose yourself to win in business — staying true to who you are will always lead you to success and however that looks for Y O U.
